Overview
The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the company’s sales team on solution based, value-add selling into an existing and prospective customers, within various infrastructure related markets. This subject matter expert will increase the company value proposition by introducing new products, technologies, and solutions in alignment with the company’s strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare, and execute on strategically targeted end users.
Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity.
As an Entrusted Partner, successfully match customer critical business issues with a new or existing company solution.
Create and deliver quality presentations and product demonstrations that clearly communicate our value proposition.
Handle technical aspects of a bid or quote when needed.
Collect and document competitive intelligence.
Train and develop internal staff on company products and manufactured solutions.
Perform extensive customer and product research to identify trends within industries as part of the companies growth initiatives.
Partner with internal marketing and suppliers on positioning and solutions for customers.
Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and our company
New product identification and creation.
Be the engineering and technical expert internally and for customers, and suppliers

Actively participate in opportunities to improve individual knowledge of the company, products, markets and systems.
Follow a path of continuous improvement, using both internal and external resources to enhance technical knowledge and sales skill levels.
Proactively collaborate with the other team members to provide support and share information to ensure daily tasks get completed for the whole office/business unit.
Maintain technical competency and customer service skills.
Safety and Housekeeping
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Technical Skills
Education and/or Experience: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
7-10 years’ experience working as a sales engineer within the Infrastructure industry.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: A valid driver’s license.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Applications Skills: Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications.

Travel: 50-60% travel in assigned territory.
