Job Description:
AZTEC is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support AZTEC’s Arizona Energy group civil development team. The applicant will be required to work closely with junior engineers, to providing insight on design procedures and methods as they relate to civil site design and photo voltaic energy generation plants and wind farms. Applicant shall demonstrate good engineering judgement and be familiar with codes and regulations that govern civil design procedures. Applicant shall assist and support the project management team in new project pursuits and budget control. This applicant shall posses a high level of motivation, and the ability to independently research and obtain solutions to complex civil engineering problems.
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
Holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
Holds PE
Minimum 4 years of experience.
Experience in site grading, erosion control, drainage and stormwater design, site development, permitting and entitlements.
Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skill. Experience in negotiations with AHJ’s (local and national), review authorities, etc. a plus.
Proficient in Civil 3D, earthwork modeling.
Strong verbal and written skills are vital.
Proficient in Word, Excel
GIS experience a plus (QGIS, ARCMAP, etc.)

Working Conditions and Environment:
This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances
Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. Working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
