The Position:
Veracyte is seeking a US Marketing Manager for the Afirma brand, the market leading molecular diagnostic test designed to help patients with thyroid nodules.
The Marketing Manager will drive Afirma product growth in the US market – from developing the strategic vision and multi-channel marketing plan to collaborating with field teams to enable excellent execution and pull-through. The primary responsibility will be focused on maximizing Afirma’s marketing reach via channels including sales, digital, print, and events.
This highly motivated, collaborative, and results-driven commercial leader must have an entrepreneurial drive and a strong track record of success in marketing including experience in driving post launch product growth. This individual should have experience in content marketing for Healthcare Provider (HCPs) and leading cross functional teams in a matrixed organization. This role can be remote. Candidates located outside of the SF Bay Area or San Diego would be required to travel to the home office on a regular basis.
Key responsibilities include:
Consistently keep a pulse on the latest market and competitor developments and proactively refine strategy, selling direction and tactics as necessary.
Execute a multi-channel marketing strategy (HCP, Patient, Conference, PR, Advocacy, Societies, Digital, NPP, etc.) by leveraging deep understanding of customers and working closely with the sales force, marketing operations, medical affairs, and other teams across Veracyte
Development of social media and online marketing campaigns, successfully partnering with marketing operations on execution
Collaboration with sales team for creation and development of downstream sales collateral
Partner with sales training to coordinate new hire and on-going sales training
Manage resources for speaker programs and other peer-to-peer education activities. Maintain strong relationships with key customers
Direct market research to gain key customer insights and benchmark brand awareness
Partner with managed care colleagues to develop a messaging platform and collateral to support commercial payor engagement
Manage and optimize the physician user experience, including all materials and processes related to sample collection, test ordering, delivery, and reporting
Collaborate seamlessly with other brand leads to align internal resources/attention and leverage synergies across products based on overall corporate strategy and goals
Coordinate with other brand leads to execute against select cross portfolio digital and conference tactics in partnership with marketing operations
Who You Are:
You are a highly motivated, results-driven individual with entrepreneurial drive and a track record of success in marketing. You have a deep sense of accountability and desire to own the product, from crafting the strategy to rolling up your sleeves and executing the tactics. Other experiences and skills include:
Bachelor’s degree in life science required
3+ years combined experience in marketing and/or sales required, preferably in the medical industry or with healthcare providers
Excellent presentation, written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and technical skills
Excellent project management skills
Adaptability to changes and challenges
Tenacity and the drive to make an impact
Team player with demonstrated track record of collaboration with others
Travel for sales meeting, conventions, and home office as needed (20%)

The anticipated base salary range in the United States is $124,000 - $170,000 per year. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
