The Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and accounts, cold-calling new prospects, and convincing potential clients of the merits of audio and digital advertising. Develops integrated marketing campaigns using the tools available at WGN Radio and Nexstar Media Group, which include, but are not limited to:

Radio Advertising in non-sports programming.

Digital Advertising, including but not limited to: OTT, Video, Social, Programmatic, and Email.

Select Sports Play-by-Play carried on WGN Radio.

Identify, develop, and expand existing clients, new clients & key account relationships.

Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.

Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote products/services in the most effective way.

Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.

Develops advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.

Works with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.

Establishes credible relationships with the local business community.

Willingness to take on additional opportunities and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

2+ years of experience as an Account Executive or in sales, preferably in the media field

Experience with key verticals/categories investing in audio and digital.

Experience with high-value partnerships including prospecting, negotiating, etc.

Experience with digital media and/or extensive agency experience.

Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

Detail oriented and organized.

Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
