Job Description Job Description Estimating Responsibilities:
Work the entire life cycle of a bid from bid invitation to finalizing bid proposal for submission to owner.
Ability to interpret/understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems etc.
Receive, analyze and review construction documents: specifications, drawings, and addendum to ensure all construction task items are accounted for.
Identify scope of work and calculate data quantity takeoffs of site, civil, and underground utility work to generate labor, material and subcontract costs.
Confer with engineers, architects, owners, and state agencies; solicit and review proposals from material vendors and subcontractors to ensure accuracy, evaluate responses, scope compliance and make recommendations with regards to the overall project estimate and bid package.
Conduct project site visits and attend Pre-Bid site meetings during bidding process to learn scope of work and understand site conditions/restrictions.
Enter Subcontractors and supplier pricing into estimating software, assist in ensuring estimates are complete, well organized, and ready for review by management.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain a highly organized work area, meet critical deadlines, prioritize daily activities, attention do detail, work well under pressure and multitask.
Effective written and verbal business communication skills.
Ability to work hands on and independently, as well as part of the estimating/project management team.
Other unlisted duties will be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
1 year of experience in estimating or equivalent field experience; new graduates or graduates to be accepted.
Strong computer skills: set up & maintain files, copy documents and drawings, willingness to learn and utilize InSite SiteWork Estimating Software and B2W Estimate, proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
Knowledge of B2W Estimate (Bid2Win) a plus.
Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, (or currently pursuing), or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience.
Must possess a valid unrestricted Driver's License.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, calculate mathematical extensions, and the capacity to interpret data and make recommendations.
