About the Role
The Executive Director position at the company is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of six family foundations. The successful candidate will work closely with Trustee leadership to provide strategic guidance and oversight of grantmaking, programming, governance, planning, administrative, investment, and budgeting activities. This includes fostering a culture of teamwork, managing a small staff, and ensuring that the foundations' missions align with their investment portfolios. The role also involves representing the organization in the nonprofit and funder community, and maintaining strong relationships with family members, including next-generation involvement in philanthropy.The ideal candidate for Executive Director will have senior executive management experience, a background in one or more of the company's priority areas, and a demonstrated interest in a broad range of issues within the organization's portfolio. Experience in grantmaking and the nonprofit sector, as well as working with a Board of Directors, is essential. The role requires a leader with a strong commitment to social justice, human rights, and the values that honor human dignity, justice, and equality. Personal characteristics such as high emotional intelligence, enthusiasm for engaging with family members across generations, and a warm, curious, and gentle demeanor are also important for this role.
