Westco Service Company has proudly served Southern California since 1991. We are a commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) construction and service contractor. Our goal is to install high quality, efficient, and effective HVAC systems. We provide services ranging from small emergency repairs to large scale construction.
The Service Manager will be required to manage the service department’s daily operations. This includes supervision and technical support for field technicians, scheduling and coordinating maintenance work and service repairs, and performing site visits when necessary. The employee will need to communicate with customers, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and Westco employees. The Service Manager will work under and report to the VP of Service.
The role of this position includes:
· Schedule monthly maintenance service
· Bid and quote new maintenance contracts
· Meet with current customers for job walks
· Dispatch emergency service calls
· Coordinate daily service requests
· Oversee progress of all service calls
· Monitor technician’s GPS location and work in-progress throughout the workday
· Advise and assist service technicians with technical issues and questions
· Review service calls and work orders for completion
· Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices as applicable
· Assist with collection of payment on invoices
· Provide daily report to VP of Service with summary of service calls and maintenances completed
· Coordination of service projects
· Bidding and estimation for service projects
· Assist the Service Administrator with compiling a daily schedule
· Create a delivery/pick-up slip for the warehouse if you need to schedule a deliver to a job site
· Track progress of work orders through the Viewpoint Vista service management module
· Assist HR with completing a service technician orientation of new hires
· Assist with evaluations and provide performance feedback for all service technicians
· Assist with disciplinary measures for service technicians
Qualifications include:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Vocational or college level degree or acceptable certificate related to HVAC
· Union experience/affiliation – retired union members welcome to apply
· 3 to 5 years of management experience in HVAC industry, non-union welcome to apply
· Diverse knowledge of HVAC equipment
· Excellent time management skills
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat
· Qualify as a driver on the Company’s auto insurance policy (preferred but not required)
· Knowledge of Vista by Viewpoint (preferred but not required)
This is not a remote job position. The manager will work at the office located in Shadow Hills and will need to travel to job sites, job walks, and meetings as needed.
We have flexible work hours in the office, ranging from 7:30am to 5:00pm.
We offer 30 minute or 1 hour lunch breaks.
The position is hourly and not salary.
We offer paid vacation and holidays after probation period expires and subject to company policy.
