Interim VP Finance

Our Boston-based, non-profit client has an immediate opening for an Interim VP Finance to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role will oversee and manage the entire accounting and financial reporting functions of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage the annual external financial audit and IRS Form 990 preparation for two entities
Manage monthly and year-end close process
Organize the annual budget and reforecast process and oversee the accounting department and officer manager’s annual budget and reforecast process
Collaborate with cost center heads/senior managers with the ‘budget to actual’ review monthly
Create and maintain company metrics that assist in monitoring operations
Manage and propose updates of financial policies and procedures
Responsible for project management as needed
Assist the CFO in the fiscal/business affairs of the corporation
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or graduate degree preferred
Significant and demonstrated experience in accounting and accounting software, with 5 or more years of experience
Strong systems proficiency (Windows, MS Office, Excel)
NetSuite experience is a plus
Knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis
Active participation in proposing solutions to problems and making recommendations for improvements
Strong time management skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound business acumen and the ability to establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization
Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
