**Responsibilities**

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA), Detroit Field Division and Philadelphia Field Division.

This position(s) primary purpose is to coordinate the accountability, inventory control, distribution, receiving, and shipping of accountable equipment and expendable supplies delivered to and stored in the assigned Field Division's facility.

As an Inventory Management Specialist your typical work assignments may include:

+ Performs recurring assignments, operations, and procedures involving property and/or equipment management, coordination and control.

+ Maintains proficiency in databases and cataloging discrepancies that impact the inventory and supply mission.

+ Presents portions of briefings relating to inventory control and/or requirements.

+ Provides guidance on the organization's practices, policies and procedures related to routine program operations.

+ Prepares internal and external reports concerning property management.

+ Performs a full-range of technical equipment management duties in areas of equipment accountability including acquisition, utilization, identification, inventory control. **Travel Required**

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.*

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

**Specialized Experience:** You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: 1.) Providing a full-range of support in the administrative areas of property management, supply, inventory management, procurement, facilities assistance and general office services; 2.) Coordinating office moves; and 3.) Preparing reports on property and/or equipment inventories and statistical analyses;

**OR**

Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; LL.B. or J.D.

**OR**

A combination of both, education and experience.

**Specialized Experience:** You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: 1.) Providing a full-range of support in the administrative areas of property management, supply, inventory management, procurement, facilities assistance and general office services; 2.) Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of an inventory management program; 3.) Coordinating activities to support facility maintenance projects; and 4.) Managing and controlling property/equipment.

**OR**

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree; LL.M., if related.

**OR**

A combination of both, education and experience.

**Time-In-Grade Requirement**: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

**Note:** Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. **Education**
