At the forefront of the action in CO+I is the Critical Environment Instrumentation Builds Fulfillment team (CEIBFF)!

CEIBFF is responsible for deploying and delivering global Critical Environment (CE) infrastructure supporting the Construction and Commissioning of Microsoft’s global Datacenters. The team delivers mission-critical telemetry to business partners supporting monitoring the health of the Datacenters.

Our team delivers infrastructure providing global datacenter capacity. We are looking for an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer (Server) to help deliver infrastructure that enables monitoring of Critical Environment systems. This role is responsible for implementing, delivering, and providing commissioning support for Critical Environment infrastructure enabling Datacenter Capacity for customers.

Responsibilities

You will collaborate within and across partner teams by proactively and systematically sharing information. You’ll also support your work with others by proactively managing dependencies.

You will respond to incidents by identifying the level of impact, troubleshooting basic issues, deploying the appropriate fixes, and implementing automations to prevent recurring issues. You’ll also follow prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards.

You will improve the development and operations of systems, platforms, or product features by sharing insights and best practices. You’ll do this by participating in design reviews, incident drills and debriefs, and regular meetings.

You will support global commissioning enabling datacenter monitoring for health and stability.

You will create documentation to support and maintain project infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years’ experience in building, deploying, supporting, automating, securing, and maintaining server host and VM builds.

2+ years’ experience with hands-on bare metal enterprise-class server system deployment, configuration and maintenance that includes periodic firmware & driver updates at scale, RAID & IPMI configurations and hardware troubleshooting.

2+ years’ experience with Microsoft server & tooling platforms for multiple infrastructure services such as Windows Server 2022/2019, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, PowerShell scripting, data protection technologies, service monitoring, incident alarming, compliance, and other services to aid in fulfilling operational monitoring, audit logging of events, compliance requirements, outages, or security-related issues.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or system engineering

OR equivalent experience.

1+ year(s) technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.

Management Information Systems (MIS), or other industry or product specific Engineering Certifications.

Experience with HP hardware for set up and troubleshooting.

Demonstrated experience for transitioning manual operational processes to automation while leveraging DevOps principles.

Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent projects.

Service Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
