We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations for one of our clients located in Southwest Houston to oversee and optimize our industrial/manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership within the industrial sector, demonstrating the ability to drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability while ensuring high-quality standards and safety protocols. The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading a team, streamlining processes, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide strong leadership and guidance to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Recruit, train, and mentor team members to ensure a high-performing workforce.
Set clear objectives, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor team performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
Operations Optimization:
Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Streamline workflows and procedures to enhance productivity and maximize output.
Identify opportunities for automation and technology integration to enhance operational capabilities.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed industry regulations and customer expectations.
Monitor production processes to identify and address any quality issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing appropriate protocols and procedures.
Supply Chain Management:
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency and resilience.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve business objectives.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement, implementing strategies to
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and Kaizen throughout the organization, encouraging all team members to actively participate in identifying opportunities for enhancement.
Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement techniques to streamline operations, eliminate waste, and enhance efficiency.
Facilitate Kaizen events and workshops to engage cross-functional teams in identifying and implementing process improvements.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and track progress over time.
Regularly review processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization, driving sustainable performance improvement across the organization.
