Legal Analyst II

Our client is seeking a Legal Analyst to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for a 6-month contract.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a quick decision-maker operating in a fast-paced environment to support the team of Environmental & Safety Law in-house attorneys managing environmental and safety matters for all the company businesses, operating units, and supporting departments.
The selected candidate will work closely with the company business clients, outside law firms, and outside parties - including environmental consultants and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
The Environmental & Safety Law Legal Analyst will perform delegated paralegal tasks under the guidance and direction of attorneys, including but not limited to:
Conducting factual research on environmental and property issues;
Conducting legal research and analysis on environmental regulations and laws;
Reviewing and analyzing environmental and legal reports;
Drafting contracts and correspondence;
Serving as a liaison with business clients and legal teams;
Issue spotting and communicating risks to business clients and attorneys; and
Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product in a high growth and fast-paced work environment.
Required Qualification:
Bachelor's degree.
Five plus (5+) years of paralegal experience.
Regulatory, environmental and/or real property experience.
Strong communication skills (both oral and written), including demonstrated writing ability. Must be able to communicate effectively across broad functional and organizational lines.

Preferred Qualification:
Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program;
Qualities of a highly motivated self-starter capable of working in a team environment and collaborating with in-house counsel, outside counsel, clients, and staff; and
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
