**Who you are....**
As a Transportation Supervisor, you are responsible for supervising plant delivery employees during the entire shipping process of precast products at multiple locations while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure product delivery is as efficient and safe as possible while diagnosing and solving problems and identifying areas for continuous improvement. Works with production, planning, quality, and outside sales to establish production schedules that support the company annual goals.
**This Position**
- Responsible for supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe and clean environment is maintained throughout the work area meeting 5S standards, and ongoing continuous improvement.
- Recruit and coordinate delivery staff. Scheduling employee work hours and vacations to ensure manhours are available as required to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Manage workflow by using all company safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
- Work with Quality Department to verify products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Work with management and planning to develop, maintain and meet shipping schedules for designated product line. Make and communicate adjustments to schedule as necessary.
- Ensure product inventory is available to meet sales demands.
- Manage sales orders from customers including BOM and BOL. Ensure freight invoicing is processed and payment receipts posted.
- Coordinate with freight companies to schedule deliveries to areas outside Company delivery area, track shipments and ensure all paperwork is accurately completed.
- Ensure all delivery vehicles and drivers are compliant with DOT regulations and State requirements.
- Ensure all delivery vehicles are compliant with required preventative maintenance schedule.
- All other duties as assigned.
**What Do You Need**
* HS Diploma or GED required, or higher.
* 5 years experience in material management and logistics.
* 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and CDL requirements.
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite software
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment demonstrating leadership qualities and independent decision making
* Experience with LEAN, 5S and continuous improvement.
* Demonstrated ability to develop others
