Chief of Staff to Chief Technology Officer

Role Summary :
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to amplify the voice of the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and her technology team. The Chief of Staff will help improve our communication, develop our tech organization, and play a critical role in streamlining the execution of our strategic projects. You will use your strong analytical and interpersonal skills, curiosity to learn, and ability to lead through influence to represent the company both internally and externally. This is a great role for an entrepreneurial self-starter looking to join a leadership team of a fast-growing public company at an early stage.You will learn a lot by working with the CTO who is one day diving deep with our engineering team to scope out early prototypes, and the next day sharing Forge’s vision with potential customers or publicly at industry events.
Responsibilities:
As Chief of Staff, you will be a key member of the CTO team. You should be comfortable working with executives, senior technology, and product leaders. You should ensure the CTO and her org are working on the most important items for Forge by keeping the CTO accountable for commitments while keeping her reports accountable for results.
Key responsibilities include:
Facilitate Engineering Staff: - Run the weekly engineering leadership staff meeting, run the offsites for the product and engineering org quarterly, and the annual offsites for the technology org to improve our skills and the way we work together. Serve as liaison for the technology team morale and sentiment, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning and pending decisions. Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness to existing operations. Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department leaders and keep CTO open for new ideas and proposals.
Internal and External Communications: - Prepare memos, presentations, and emails for internal and external communication. Set an agenda for engineering all hands, companywide all hands, help draft presentations to the executive team, the board and external investors presentations and other events. Be a bridge for smooth communication between the CTO and other executives.
Strategic Initiative Execution: Support quicker decision-making through research, analysis of information, and clear presentation of information for consideration. Act as the right hand for the CTO to ensure better coverage of the growing demands on the technology organization.Help improve our ability to grow and scale the technology organization to ensure alignment with budget, resource demands and projects bycollaborating with recruiting, finance, and technology leaders.
Required Qualifications:
6 to 10 years of experience in a CoS, business management, director, or marketing role
3+ years of experience in a role requiring a blend of strong interpersonal and analytical skills like product management, program management, consulting, marketing, venture investing, banking, etc.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or similar field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate business goals and technology progress internally and externally
Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments with versatile abilities and extreme dedication to efficient productivity
Experience in data analysis and budget management
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven success in a project coordination role with strong project-reporting skills focusing on interdepartmental communications
Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
Experience working closely with engineers & engineering teams with extensive exposure within a tech environment.
Ability to draw insights from information and influence decision-making based on both quantitative and qualitative inputs
A team-oriented self-starter motivated to make a team successful
For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $170,000 - $180,000 + bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
