The Director, Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations of Center of Excellence (“CoE”) warehouse in Commerce, CA. This individual will work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver a world-class aerospace distribution fulfillment capability to its customers, and ultimately supporting the growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction objectives for the organization.
Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing the operational fulfillment and performance at the CoE
Develop KPIs and tools to monitor and oversee operational performance
Benchmark internal and external best practice, and pragmatically applying leading practice across the organization
Develop and mature new operational capabilities including supply chain, vendor-owned/vendor-managed inventory, lease/exchange, and repair management
Architect and oversee transformation activity across operations
Drive and advance a winning culture of On-time Delivery (OTD), First-pass Quality (FPQ), and warehouse productivity
Oversee the development and implementation of a harmonized set of operational policies and procedures that promote efficiency and effectiveness
Oversee the production schedules and daily operational activities of the CoE, including receiving, inspection, material stocking, and material pick/pack/ship with a high degree of efficiency and first-pass quality
Analyze operating and delivery procedures, technology systems and schedules and all other facility activities to identify potential efficiency improvements and cost-savings
Drive a continuous improvement culture that questions status quo and inspires the team to improve
Ability to evaluate and implement best-in-class operational processes, technologies, and tools
Work with senior leadership to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of the company's operations
Develop and manage the annual budget for the CoE to ensure cost and productivity targets are aligned with strategic objectives and financial targets
Analyze operational data and due diligence materials from potential acquisition targets; partake in post-closing integration activities
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field; Master’s degree highly preferred
4+ years experience with ETL tools, including Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, etc.
Minimum of 10 years in a senior operations leadership role in the aerospace industry or a related field
Experience in supply chain, quality control, transportation, and logistics is preferred
Experience in ERP implementation projects and significant coordination with the finance and information technology teams
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Ability to motivate and engage leadership teams across multiple functional disciplines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross functional teams, customers, vendors, and partners
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop effective solutions
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
Ability to work on-site at the CoE in Commerce, CA
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 annually
