Role Summary: As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our accounting team by managing the end-to-end process of accounts payable, from invoice matching to payment execution. Key Responsibilities:
Accurately match purchase orders with receiving documents and vendor invoices, ensuring all items are correctly ordered, received, and priced before payment.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies in purchase orders, receipts, or invoices.
Ensure all transactions are approved by the appropriate management levels and correctly coded to the general ledger.
Efficiently process payments for invoices and expense reports, including check printing and register management.
Participate in month-end closing activities and prepare accruals for late-arriving invoices.
Assist in the preparation of 1099 forms and maintain meticulous departmental files.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the accounting department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. is desired.
2-3 years of accounting experience or accounts payable within a trucking company.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Essential Functions:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains a high level of accuracy in duties.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform physical tasks such as sitting for prolonged periods, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
General office environment with a standard Monday to Friday schedule.
Occasional evening or weekend work to meet critical deadlines.
Very limited travel required.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
