Job Description

The Johnson County Mental Health Department is hiring a Health Services Division Director (Manager VI) to manage the delivery of health services to clients and provides direction and oversight of the division to ensure the highest standards of quality and psychiatric service are maintained within context of a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The following are responsibilities of the position:

Provides direction and oversee operations of the division to ensure the highest standards of quality and psychiatric service are maintained within context of a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC); provides direct supervision and manages schedules for medical staff, including psychiatrists (MD) and nurses (APRNs/PAs, RNs, LPNs) as well as other division staff.

Directs and oversees the operations of health services; manages the assignment and monitoring of the Medication Only caseload; supervises the Medication Management program, Medication Assisted Treatment program and the new Chronic Care Clinic; administers the Prescription Network of Kansas (PNK) Program and the Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) of various pharmaceutical companies; responsible for The Infection Control program; monitors compliance OSHA standards; advises and assists in determining any exposure incidents; reports and follows-up on any exposure incidents; authorizes need for Hepatitis B vaccine and TB testing for staff with high or moderate risk of exposure; oversees delegation and supervision of consumers' medications by unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) as outlined in Kansas Nursing Practice Statute 65-1165.

Serves as a member of the Mental Health Center’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT); participates as a member of the Quality Review/Peer Review committee, Electronic Health Record team, MHC Safety committee, and Training committee; facilitates monthly medical staff meetings; provides consultation to members of Mental Health Center's non-medical staff; participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.

Supports maximizing fee revenues through the development of internal practices and procedures to support use of clinical staff time in the direct provision of client services; identifies program and grant opportunities to increase fee or other revenues in accordance with the strategic plan.

Job Requirements Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, or other relevant health field; eight (8) years of experience in health care administration, nursing or relevant field; and five (5) years leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others are required.

Three (3) years of clinical supervision of a major clinical program is preferred.

Experience may be substituted for education.
