GridIron IT is seeking a Systems Monitoring Specialist local to the Ft. Meade, MD area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage integration of the network system management tools.
•Network Management Systems monitoring and reporting.
•Operate as a team member on a 24 x 7 x 365 operational support team focused on identifying, responding, and resolving alerts / incidents.
•Network monitoring technical support and analysis for network systems and components, LAN/WAN communications, and transmission systems, including Wireless LAN infrastructure.
•Perform critical/emergency systems administration tasks affecting the production environment.
•Maintain the availability of environments for projects and follows application deployment/configuration plans.
•Standard, repeatable and business adaptive processes for the delivery and support of network services.
•Learn existing network environment services along with the associated infrastructure and the specific metrics used to manage its health.
•Analyze network topologies, layouts and services.
•Implement reporting and dashboards based on monitored network services.
•Utilize reporting tools to generate ad-hoc and daily/weekly/monthly reports.
•On - boarding / off boarding network and other assets to maintain a current and up to date monitoring infrastructure.
•Must be able to create twice daily status reports and outage reports.
•Must be able to document significant events within the Master Station Log (MSL).
•Must be able to create incident tickets and escalate to the appropriate teams within the approved timeframe for network outages.
•Must track the status of network outages and VIP tickets; including higher level outages.
•This is on-site support.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelors degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
•5+ Years of system administration experience
•Experience with Active Directory
•Experience with Monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds, NetCool, InfoVista or other tools
•Experience with technical writing and reporting
•Experience creating/running SNOW ITSM reports.
•Must have an active DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE), prior to start.
