NATURE AND SCOPE:
Reporting directly to the Chief Experience Officer, The Director of Corporate Partnership and Sales is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategies to acquire, retain, and grow corporate memberships and partnerships for the organization. This role involves fostering strong relationships with corporate entities, identifying potential partners, negotiating agreements, and ensuring the fulfillment of partnership commitments. The Director will collaborate closely with internal teams to align partnership objectives with organizational goals and deliver value to both the organization and its corporate partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Develop and Implement Strategy:
Develop written proposals for current or new business prospects; design proposals using a consultative sales style incorporating research of category dynamics and understanding the potential partner’s marketing goals
Develop comprehensive strategies to acquire new corporate memberships and partnerships.
Identify key industries, companies, and stakeholders for potential partnerships.
Collaborate with senior management to align partnership strategies with association objectives.
Relationship Management
Cultivate new corporate partner relationships and renewals to drive membership revenue and facilitate marketing partnerships to achieve annual revenue goals
Optimize new/existing corporate relationships by boosting levels of total engagement (units, wellness services, philanthropy, volunteerism - in partnership with other departments).
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing corporate members and partners.
Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate partners, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
Actively engage with partners to understand their business goals and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Business Development
Support both new/existing corporate partners to ensure an excellent experience, grow the percentage of Y memberships within their workforce and retain partners for the long term
Identify and pursue new business opportunities for corporate memberships and partnerships.
Lead negotiations with prospective partners, including contract terms, pricing, and benefits.
Develop compelling proposals and presentations to pitch partnership opportunities to potential corporate partners.
Collaboration and Coordination
Act as corporate marketing consultant to Corporate Partners to create & execute impactful experiences.
Collaborate with staff across the Association to service and grow corporate memberships/partnerships
Engage with staff and boards, across the association, to garner corporate partner leads
Work with Branch leaders to support corporate partnership
Create an association wide culture of celebration when corporate partners join our Y family
Provide a conduit for corporate partners to engage with the Y with other programs and services such as on-site wellness, health initiatives, volunteerism, philanthropy
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and operations to execute partnership initiatives effectively.
Ensue alignment between partnership objectives and association goals.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts to deliver on partnership commitments and maximize value for partners.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
Develop and coordinate a staff response team for on-site corporate events (member sign-up, health fairs, lunch and learns, on-site Group Ex, etc.)
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of corporate memberships and partnerships.
Monitor and analyze partnership performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management
Use data-driven insights to optimize partnership strategies to improve outcomes over time.
Budget Management
Develop and manage budges for corporate membership and partnership activities.
Ensure cost-effective utilization of resources while delivering value to partners and meeting organizational objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of directly relevant experience in business development and required people and or program management experience OR high school diploma and 10+ years of directly relevant experience in business development and required people and or program management experience
Proven experience in corporate partnership development or business development carrying a quota
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully closing deals and partnerships
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive partnership strategies
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines
Knowledge of industry treads and best practices in corporate partnerships and membership programs
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or related field
YMCA or non-profit experience
