Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with the translation to Pashto, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of training for team members in the operations areas of the company in topics such as specific production processes/operations/tasks, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), quality, etc. This position also assists providing translation to team members in company meetings covering policies, procedures, announcements, leadership communications, and other company-initiated meetings.
The expectation for the person in this role is to over time grow from translation of training to becoming a certified trainer of the training curriculum for operations employees that includes production standard work instructions, safety procedures, product quality, etc. while continuing to support with translation for company-initiated meetings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be added).
• Develop a thorough understanding and remain current on the training topics that will translate for the subject matter expert (SME) trainers this includes standard work instructions (SWIs) for processes/operations/tasks, training materials, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) topics, company policies, procedures, etc.
• Provide training logistics coordination and translation assistance to SME trainers ensuring thorough understanding and demonstration of skills by trainees.
• Assist with delivery of training as required by trainers.
• Ensure a training roster is completed and signed by the trainees and an agenda of the topic(s) covered is attached.
• Establish an electronic and/or paper system to ensure all training documents are maintained as sufficient evidence that training has been administered and translated to employees.
• Provide input to trainers and production leadership on training needs, learning effectiveness and opportunities to improve existing training.
• Monitor completion of required training by position to ensure all employees have completed the required training. Report discrepancies to the Production Manager/Production Assistance Manager and SME trainer(s) and assist scheduling and coordinating training.
• Help train the employees on the Kaizen program (continuous improvement) and support the team members in sharing their Kaizen ideas and submissions.
• Assist administering Quality key points training during first week of new hires’ schedule.
• Assist the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist providing translation in monthly safety training presentations, and on specific topics as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings (startup meetings, pass downs, etc.) and provide translation to team members.
• Adhere to and uphold all policies and procedures established by the company.
• Other duties may be added.
Requirements: Experience, Educational and Training Preferences:
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to all levels of leadership and team members is required
• Ability to step in and learn, train, translate and effectively demonstrate all SWI’s within the production department.
• Ability to hold training presentations is required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to speak and translate from Pashto to English and vice versa required.
Physical Requirements:
• 80% on the production plant floors walking, standing and engaged in the activities associated with the role. 20% seating in meetings or conducting administrative work.
• Must be able to team lift a minimum of 50 pounds, 25 pounds alone.
• Be able to work in an environment that is climate controlled but is exposed to potential heat, rain, and cold.
