The E&S Partner Director / Manager, will play a pivotal role in sales management and execution with the E&S Wholesale Brokers. In this highly visible role, the candidate will have accountability for E&S Sales & Distribution execution and management of their assigned E&S Wholesale Distribution relationships. The candidate would be accountable for achievement of our E&S Sales Objectives and overall Financial Performance for their assigned E&S Wholesale Distribution Partners including:
Top line premium objectives
Wholesaler profitability
Wholesaler execution and underwriting quality
Leveraging Direct and Contingent commission plans
Property Cat capacity management
Line of Business and Industry mix management
This role will report to the E&S Sales Lead and can be based remotely anywhere within the continental United States. Travel to assigned Wholesale Brokers is required for this role.
Responsibilities:
Deliver on E&S Binding Financial Commitments to the Small Commercial organization
Lead the sales component of E&S Binding PSU in partnership with Underwriting and Product as the team scales and we add focused resources.
Effectively manage all internal and external aspects of the E&S Binding Direct and Contingent Compensation Plans for assigned E&S Wholesalers
Monitor underwriting and pricing execution for assigned E&S Wholesalers
Monitor underwriting quality results (provided by the QA Team) to ensure that they are executing against our current guidelines and provide training as needed to address gaps
Engage broadly with assigned E&S Wholesalers to build strong partnership and alignment to profitably grow our portfolio together
Qualifications
Minimum of five+ years’ experience in Small Commercial underwriting or sales is required.
Dynamic sales leader with experience managing complex large partnerships and strong sales business acumen.
Experience in E&S markets with large Wholesalers preferred.
Broad knowledge base across different E&S lines of business.
Understanding of Insurance technology, including contemporary technologies and platform integrations.
Strong communication and executive presence, both verbal and written.
Proficient in presentation building and delivery.
Position level will be determined after careful review of selected candidates experience.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$105,280 - $157,920
