Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move! Primary Duties: Documents rhythm every two hours on EKG flow sheet. Immediately reports any changes in cardiac rhythm to the nurse. Obtains strips of irregularities.Maintains charge requisitions on monitored patients. Makes nursing personnel aware of the need for replacement of patient electrodes and/or newly monitored patients to be connected.Maintains safe and effective operation of the Monitoring Console. Ensures that paper loaders are full. Monitors assigned telemetry console. Obtains monitor strips at the start of each shift, interprets strip, puts date and time on each strip, and places it on flow sheet.Provides a verbal report to relief persons and gives a patient report to oncoming technicians.Verifies and adjusts alarm limits as established for the levels appropriate to the individual patient. Verifies alarms are on at all times.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED.Experience with emergency situations and maintaining continuous strips of cardiac rhythms.Completion of the Monitor Technician Program.Why MedStar Health?
