Scope of Role
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing market-validated value propositions and messaging for Tait's portfolio; driving the launch plan for new and updated offerings; ensuring global and regional teams are equipped to engage current and prospective customers with confidence. Cross-functional collaboration and the ability to influence and inspire people to execute is critical to success.
The role is based in North America and will have a primary focus on the regional needs, however the role is global in scope, operating as part of the Global Marketing Team. The role reports to the Manager, Global Product Marketing, and collaborates closely with the Product Management Team, Regional Sales and Regional Marketing teams, and the wider Global Marketing team, among many other stakeholders.
Functional Outcomes
What You Will Do
Develop the value propositions, messaging, and competitive battle sheets for Tait's portfolio of offerings, validating them through customer and sales engagements, and with a clear understanding of the competitive landscape
Drive the launch plan for new and updated offerings, ensuring global and regional marketing teams are equipped to execute their deliverables, and regional sales has the confidence (tools and training) to engage current and prospective customers
Actively engage Tait Product Management, Services, and Solutions teams to obtain a detailed understanding of the development roadmap; provide market insights and facilitate customer conversations to influence decisions during the planning and development cycles; and gain support for messaging and go-to-market plans
Be the Voice of Customer to Tait using beneficial relationships you develop and maintain with end users and Tait-sponsored groups through high-touch opportunities including participating in product prototype and beta engagements you create or assist in orchestrating, acting as a champion and liaison for customer use cases, and taking an active role in Tait- or industry-sponsored events
Shepherd communications of the portfolio roadmap internally and externally, ensuring a consistent and secure message is delivered and received
Who You Will Be
The product management and service teams will look to you to create value propositions and shape messaging influenced by market, sales and customer feedback; manage the go-to-market plans that introduce new products and services into chosen markets and the sales regions; provide opportunities to capture the voice of customers that shape decisions; facilitate the cadenced delivery of the roadmap to internal teams.
The regional marketing teams will look to you to ensure all essential items to execute sales enablement and regional campaign activities are available for as-is use ahead of product launches; and to participate in Tait and/or industry-sponsored events.
The regional sales teams will look to you as a regional representative of the portfolio who can confidently speak to it and its roadmap in the presence of sales teams and customers; provide clarity around offerings; conduct and/or facilitate product sales training; lead engagement opportunities to capture voice of customers; participate in industry events; and care personally about the successful positioning of Tait's portfolio in the regional market to win.
The Solutions team will look to your team to create value propositions and shape messaging around solutions they create; manage the go-to-market plan that introduces them; and assist in executing regional sales enablement.
Your department peers will look to you to create value propositions, messaging and commentary for new and updated offerings with which they can efficiently execute their responsibilities within a go-to-market plan you drive; and contribute insight and feedback regarding the on-going success of customer-facing materials including website(s), collateral and demand generation campaigns.

Product Marketing is in a constant state of gaining insight from and delivering value to upstream and downstream teams with the objective of positioning Tait's portfolio in the market to win. Cross-functional collaboration and the ability to influence and inspire people to execute is critical to success.
How You Will Be Measured
Expect Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to reflect the following themes.
On-time delivery of new product introductions with deliverables agreed to in advance with product management, services, solutions and regional sales leaders as appropriate
Consistent execution of Voice of Customer (VOC) engagements that bring insight to the product management, services, solutions and regional sales teams as appropriate
Cadence delivery of portfolio roadmap with confirmation of understanding by internal and external teams
Requirements
Technical/Professional
10+ years experience creating portfolio value propositions, messaging and marketing content within a critical communications technology company
Strong ability to synthesize technical concepts and inform internal stakeholders, through excellent writing and presentation skills, of the key selling points that resonate with prospective buyers in a competitive marketplace
Demonstrable experience in successfully launching products and services for a global brand in multiple sales geographies and channels
Excellent project management skills, with proven track record for driving accountability and delivery of on-time projects
Strong desire and comfort in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with end customers to understand the perceived value of the Tait portfolio, while creating advocates for Tait
Recognized ability to influence and work with a wide range of stakeholders, including product, customer service, engineering and regional sales and marketing teams, to achieve your goals
Competitive spirit inclusive of a healthy level of paranoia for companies that could threaten Tait's continued success, and a strong desire for the company to win
Ability to travel when needed
