Our team is working hybrid and this position will be onsite minimum 3 days/week in either San Antonio, TX, Northridge, CA, or Minneapolis, MN.

This Senior Financial Analyst role provides key support to the Diabetes Americas Commercial Organization. Key responsibilities include partnering with Commercial leaders across various lines of business, providing financial insights, forecasting analysis, and management decision making support. You should be comfortable presenting financial topics to non-Finance business partners, energetic, results-oriented and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
A role in Diabetes Finance offers unique experience opportunities, such as: being part of a global team, coaching others, collaborating with business partners throughout the Operating Unit, visibility to global structures and impacts, and insight to various processes and functions across Medtronic. After spending 3-4 years in Diabetes Finance, potential career moves could include Corporate Finance or various finance or other operational roles supporting an Operating Unit, as well as movements between functions, such as Supply Chain or Marketing, depending on your experience and career goals.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Budgeting and forecasting: Preparation of budgets and forecasts, liaising with stakeholders and managing the timeline to ensure timely completion
Provide analytical and business partnering support & insights to optimize performance, including financial statement analysis, KPIs, business performance commentary, and forecasting to various levels of management
Month-end activities: execute standard period and quarter-end financial close activities through analysis of actuals, review of headcount and establishing accruals. Drive monthly reviews of forecast/AOP to actual results and rolling forecast. Consolidate and prepare results commentary for both directly supervised cost centers and areas supported for others.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 2+ years)
Nice to Have
Strong quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (Excel - including use of macros and lookup tables, Word, PowerPoint)
Solid accounting (GAAP), financial, and business management foundation
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize systems/data to provide insightful analysis and implement recommendations
Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative in understanding business needs, ability to work under minimal supervision
Experience working in medical device or healthcare industry preferred
Ability to interface with various levels of management
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude
High integrity and self-confidence
Medtronic business unit experience
Experience with CMR, Essbase, Spend, and SAP
Finance/Accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc)
