Description:
Key Objectives
- Leverage broad technical knowledge to provide IT support of key business objectives including but not limited to organizational growth and customer engagement activities
- Provide local and remote support at the technical level to all internal staff across three physical offices
- Work to maximize employee effectiveness and efficiency in utilizing implemented technology through training sessions and documentation
- Maintain positive relations through a friendly, approachable demeanor, and in providing exceptional customer service to all staff
- Develop IT infrastructure and training to broaden the reach of IT while maximizing the number of internal customers that can be supported per IT engineer Specific Responsibilities
- Handle support requests via IT trouble ticketing system - Support all IT resources including Email, VoIP, Workstations/Laptops, OS, Network Connectivity, VPN, and server clusters
- Maintain documentation of IT-related assets
- On-site and Off-site troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair - Design smart technical solutions to solve problems and meet objectives
- Make recommendations for improvements to IT systems
- Create documentation and knowledge base articles
- Provide training to staff on utilizing IT products and services
- Review internal design and specification documents to provide customer perspective
- Continually increase knowledge of new IT technologies - Participate in the Agile process Scrum
Requirements: - In depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration including installation and configuration, disk/RAID/SAN configuration, network configuration, X windows display drivers, and general troubleshooting
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to effectively install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows workstation and server operating systems.
- Experience implementing and/or supporting an integrated Windows/Linux server and workstation environment
- Experience with commercial database products such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, Informix, Postgres etc.
- Fundamental understanding of network and system security concepts
- UNIX scripting languages including shell, python, sed/awk, Perl
- Familiar with network diagnostic tools, TCP/IP, and Cisco access-network switching products
- Knowledge of clean structured cabling techniques
Required Experience -Minimum 5 years of recent, professional experience in hands-on IT support and engineering role
- Prior software start up experience
- Prior IT engineering experience
- BS or equivalent experience in a technical field (Computer Science preferred)
