Infrastructure Engineer Information Technology

Impulse Space is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer and expert hands-on builder to design and implement the network systems of a high-performance space startup. This person will create network designs, operational processes, deploy the network technologies, determine the best practices, and lead cybersecurity and networking operations. Candidates should be a guru on working in high-availability data centers with complex networks, storage systems, databases, web applications, and VM farms. He or she will architect solutions for Windows, Mac, UNIX, and mobile platforms and must demonstrate expert proficiency doing so. The ideal candidate will also be flexible and flourish in a fast paced and challenging environment. He or she should be a self-starter and have excellent motivation, leadership, and ingenuity to excel at this position. When it comes to IT service, performance, and availability, the buck stops here. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain geographically distributed network services, telephony, and core infrastructure services for Impulse datacenters, providing simple but effective scalability, performance, and reliability.
Develop network operations processes with monitoring, backups, and support mechanisms.
Develop and operate enterprise storage systems on high performance and scalable mediums.
Develop, deploy, and enforce excellent cybersecurity policies that satisfy business objectives.
Interact with internal business units to provide solutions and resolve problems in a timely and proactive manner.
Preferred Skills and Experience BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred; equivalent work experience/certification required.

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options , and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan .
