Through early education, TK-8th grade education, youth workforce services, and family and community services Para Los Niño’s’ model provides a comprehensive, holistic approach to break the cycle of poverty and help children and youth thrive.

Position Overview

The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor will report to the Clinical Program Manager and will guide and empower UMHP’s and Senior UMHP, and Supervising UMHP within their role and will also engage communities, community, and County partners with the goal of improving overall community wellbeing. Clinical Supervisor will also coordinate training and oversight of internship training program.

Duties

Carries out mission, vision and values established by President/CEO and Board of Directors.

Assists Director of Family Services in ensuring program standards are followed at all times.

Provides support and administrative oversight.

Act as a central point of contact with the County.

Able to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Duties may vary based on the needs of the community being served, DMH, Service Area and/Supervisorial District. DMH, Service Area and/Supervisorial District.

Provides Individual and Group Supervision to all staff in UMHP.

Attends and participates in all required activities may include outreach and engagement, individual and community advocacy, facilitating groups, referral and linkage, and collaboration with internal and external systems within LACDMH, and other County Departments, community partners and thought leaders.

Engages in partner recruiting to improve supports and outcomes for families.

Responsible for clinical on-boarding of all new hires.

Works with the Director of Outcomes and Evaluation to review all outcome data and apply findings to supervision for CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) and training purposes.

Develops and coordinates training programs for all new UMHP team members and continuing in-service training for all current UMHP team members.

Reviews and ensures documentation is submitted in a timely manner and in compliance with agency and county standards.

Participates in the overall agency accreditation/continuous quality improvement processes.

Must have the ability to nurture respectful relationship with clients, children and be sensitive to the client’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Position may require travel within the neighborhoods and communities served.

Performs other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Bilingual English/Spanish required. English proficiency supporting professional-level verbal and written communication to children, parents and other staff members required.

Lived Experience: Has learned from challenges and mentors; willing to learn from others and create and engage with others. Life experience reflecting familiarity with systemic racism, the cultural practices and other experiences of the community in which they work.

Formal Education and/or Trainings/Certifications a plus.

Computer proficient (Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Quicken, Internet Explorer, Outlook and other basic data management software).

Strong experience working with the Latino Community, experience working with African American and/or Asian Pacific Islander Communities preferred.

Flexible approach to Problem-Solving.

Strong written and verbal communication skill in Spanish and English.

Experience working in a multicultural settings and sensitive to multicultural issues preferred.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, which will include occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Education and Certification Requirements

Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug test and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Current certification in CPR/First Aid.

LCSW / LMFT/ or Licensed Psychologist.

Minimum of two years post Licensure experience required for LMFT’s and LCSW’s.

Experience in providing clinical supervision preferred.

Experience working with low-incoming children and families.

Experience in providing high quality training in the areas of family dynamics, and strength base models.

Special Skill/Knowledge/Abilities:

Have the ability to identify and access community resources for families.

Have knowledge of the needs of children and families and factors that support their social and physical well-being.

Satisfactory completion of all background screening requirements.

Must have reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed).

Valid CA driver license. State required automobile insurances coverage.

Good verbal and writing skills
