As a Journeyman Marine Auxiliary Engineer you will:
Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard – Ship Design Team Headquarters DC.

A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Auxiliary Engineer:
Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of Auxiliary marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as HM&E, HVAC&R, piping systems, etc
Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.
Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration.
Conduct marine engineering analysis.
Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems.
Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
Prepare technical reports for internal use.
Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Ability to obtain a secret clearance
At least 5+ years of experience:
Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics)
Working with Microsoft Office suite
Experience with Auto-CAD
Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
