Job Description
Are you a Marine Engineer with experience designing auxiliary or propulsion systems for military vehicles?
If so, our team in Washington, DC is looking for individuals to help support the United States Coast Guard and our Ship Design Group!
As a Journeyman MarineEngineer you will:
Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard Headquarters

A week in the life of a Journeyman MarineEngineer:
Assist with Senior Mechanical Engineers in design, development, and evaluation of propulsion and auxiliary systems..
Reviewthird party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
Assist with performing design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases..
Conduct marine engineering analysis as they relate to vessels.
Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
Inspect equipment or systems.
Research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
Prepare technical reports for internal use.
Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related field
5 - 10years of overall relevant experience
Ability to obtain a secret clearance
At least 1 year of experience in:
Propulsion or Auxiliary Marine Systems
Working with Microsoft office suite
experience with design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $89,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
