About the Role.
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for construction and R and M matters for the company. This position works closely with the third party contractors and the internal Starbird team providing support in new restaurant projects, remodels and other R and M matters. This person will also provide support in assessing the construction needs for the pipeline of new restaurant real estate and initial support for franchisee partners during construction while maintaining daily activities and tasks.
Responsibilities for Construction Project Manager
Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
Predict resources needed to complete project
Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites
Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Manage costs in order to meet budget
Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts
Manage construction schedule and activities
Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines
Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes
Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors
Qualifications for Construction Project Manager
Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture (or Comparable Experience)
5-7 years of experience in project management within construction
1 year of minimum restaurant experience
Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and general computer software. CAD knowledge a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
Strong leadership and management skill
