This position is ideally suited to an experienced Sales Engineer and/or Sales Territory Manager who has a successful track record when it comes to selling capital equipment and/or heavy engineered equipment/machinery – someone who ideally has a connection with the trucking industry as well as a passion for ‘best in class’ engineering equipment that delivers ‘Lifetime Excellence’ to the customer and an enduring return on their investment.

Reporting through to the National Sales Manager, you will be joining as our No. 1 person in Western Australia and the newest member of our highly successfully National Sales Team.The key purpose of this position is tohead up and promote the Palfinger brand [advocating Lifetime Excellence - through Efficiency, Reliability & Innovation] and drive the sales of our Vehicle Loading Crane and Hookloader product ranges across WA.
This will involveestablishing yourself as the experienced Palfinger market voice across the state and doing the hard yards in the field to consolidate existing relationships and grow new relationship to expand our market share.
The role will have a 80% Customer Relationship Management focus and a 20% New Business Development focus and you will be engaged infacilitating the complete end-to-end sales process from initial qualification to deal close and then in turn the ongoing relationship management.
Importantly, this position also has a notable technical component.Over time and with experience you will develop a strong knowledge and understanding of our VLC’s and Hookloaders in terms of how they are made and what they are capable of.Your goal being to develop your reputation in the WA market as the ‘expert’ and ‘go to person’ when it comes to these products.
You will be inheriting a well-established customer base that consists of organisations that currently use Palfinger VLC’s and Hookloaders.These customers come from a range of different industries and use their Palfinger equipment for both land based and marine based applications.Whilst the spread of customers you inherit, and the new customers you will be targeting, are from a range of industries, key to your success will be the relationships you build with key personnel at Truck Dealerships across Perth as well as in regional and remote locations across WA.
Ideally you will spend3 to 4 days a week calling on the market across the Perth metro area and also across regional and country WA [which will involve travelling once a quarter for 1 – 2 days at a time] - and then 1 - 2 days in the office, planning and completing follow up work, administration and reporting.
Excellent product training is available and there will also by a high level of support provided to you from your Palfinger and Sime Darby colleagues across Australia and more broadly from your Sime Darby colleagues around the world.

Sound numeracy and literacy skills.
