Associate Director, Health Promotion

The Associate Director of HealthPromotion is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committedprofessionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health andwellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary,comprehensive approach. The Associate Director of Health Promotion resideswithin the Well for Health Promotion, and reports to the Director of PublicHealth Initiatives and Assessment. The individual in this position isresponsible for the management of the development, implementation, andevaluation of comprehensive health promotion initiatives on a variety oftopics. The Associate Director oversees the management of initiatives thatinclude, but are not limited to BASICS, knowledge and skills acquisitionworkshops, community engagement, social marketing and communication, recovery,and a variety of other evidence informed interventions.
The Associate Director of HealthPromotion supervises a Health Promotion Specialist, the Recovery CommunityManager and oversees the Tulane University Peer Health Educators. Theindividual in this position co-chairs the Campus Health Alcohol and Other DrugCommittee and sits on a variety of campus-wide committees. The AssociateDirector of Health Promotion also assists the Director with a variety of tasksincluding budgeting, hiring and onboarding, and staff training and supervision.The Associate Director manages The Well for Health Promotion when the Directoris not available.

Extensive knowledge of current andemerging college health issues, environmental management/prevention strategies,health behavior change theories and ecological framework, and evidence-basedpractice.
Oral and written communication skillsthat can contribute to effective collaboration with students, faculty, andstaff.
Ability to stay current on developmentsin the field of public health, health promotion, peer health education, andcollege health.
High level of organizational skillsand proven record of delivering quality results in a timely manner.
Ability to strategically andcreatively manage a wide range of projects, and to work quickly and effectivelyon deadline projects.
Ability to work successfully with adiverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective.
Ability to ensure compliance withregulation and legal requirements.
Skills in providing excellent healtheducation and customer service including maintaining confidentiality and beingreliably available to students.
Excellent computer skills; proficientin MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
Masters' degree in Health Promotion,Health Education, Public Health, Community Health Education, School Health,Higher Education, Health Communication, or related field.
3 years' experience in a healthpromotion/public health setting.
Three years' experience in a collegehealth setting
CHES or CPH Certified
Experience advising a peer healtheducation group
