Principal Product Manager, AI Frontiers

As part of Asana's AI organization, the new Frontiers team is blazing new trails around what our product might become, what problems we can solve, and what technologies we can use. This team is charged with inspiring the entire company by shaping Asana's bold, long-term vision for AI-enabled solutions - while simultaneously identifying and de-risking our biggest strategic bets in this space. This high-impact, high-visibility role will directly influence Asana's evolution, requiring exceptional strategic leadership, deep customer empathy, and the ability to transform ambitious ideas into reality through cross-functional partnership. We're searching for someone who can navigate ambiguity, think at a transformative scale, and propel Asana towards new frontiers in the AI era.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve

Identify unmet customer needs and translate them into innovative, customer-centric product solutions

Prioritize and validate the most promising hypotheses to test, knowing when to pivot or double down based on results

Inspire the organization with a bold and ambitious long-term product vision that bridges future possibilities with near-term customer needs

Drive high-impact, strategic initiatives from conception to launch through cross-functional partnership

Make tough prioritization decisions balancing customer, business, and technical considerations

Develop thought-provoking perspectives on how AI/ML and emerging technologies can enhance Asana's offerings

Explore unconventional ideas and challenge assumptions to help unlock new product frontiers

Earn buy-in from stakeholders and inspire teams with exceptional communication and storytelling abilities

About you

10+ years of product management experience, including driving strategic, high-impact initiatives

Proven entrepreneurial skills with a blend of vision, execution, and grit to traverse ambiguous problem spaces and cut through complexity.

Exceptional at breaking down ambiguous problems and driving towards clarity using structured thinking

Excellent customer empathy. Ability to deeply understand user needs as well as intuitively guide solutions towards highly usable, adoptable experiences. You love spending time with customers and iterating on product solutions with them.

Passionate about the future of AI/ML and loves consuming the latest research and trends

Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities to inspire stakeholders. Concise clear guidance (verbal and written) is a strength of yours.

Track record of earning trust and buy-in while partnering across functions and groups.

Comfortable making tough tradeoffs and prioritization decisions in a dynamic environment

What we’ll offer

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $248,000-$316,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
