**Job Description:**
The Construction Regional Safety Manager will work with regional project teams and the Corporate Safety Manager under the direction of the regional Director of Construction. As the Regional Safety Manager, you will work with other regional safety managers to direct, monitor, and assists with a wide range of analytical, technical, process, procedural, and administrative functions related to safety and regulatory compliance . The Regional Safety Manger is responsible for leading and supervising staffing to manage site safety on multiple active construction projects and client sites in the food and beverage manufacturing sectors. Our Regional Safety Manager will interface with our fortune 500 clients, who are industry leaders, to provide safe project execution. This position will require travel to various regional construction projects.
**Responsibilities:**
* Visit active jobsites and conduct site safety audits in the region on a periodic basis
* Investigate, Develop and Author reports based on observations from audits, walk throughs and after near misses, incidents, or accidents
* Prepare hazards analysis plans in conjunction with execution team prior to start of each project.
* Prepare site specific safety plans in conjunction with the execution team
* Develop, Monitor, Lead and Track safety trainings including but not limited to: tool box talks, JSA and safety stand downs to create an effective regional safety program
* Develop and Manage a program to make readily available all safety data sheets and notify affected parties of updates
* Provide Monthly updates to Director of Construction and safety management of best environmental and safety practices in the industry
* Train all site mangers on technical and administrative protocols for reporting including but not limited to PFAS, scaffolding, LOTO, near misses, accidents, injuries, and incidents on their project.
* Develop a master safety presentation for each site to be included as part of project proposals, updates, and presentations.
* Prepare a regional site safety loss prevention plan.
* Effective interfacing with senior management and Client EHS Managers when required and contribute to the interface with other Design Group offices regarding safety issues.
* Review subcontractor safety plans.
* Monitor, inventory, use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment for regional construction professionals.
* Monitor and maintain record of safety certifications for Design Group personnel on site
* Review Design Group design details for compliance with safety standards during all phases of construction
* Maintain and catalog jobsite near misses, accident, and incident reports for management review.
* Serve as short term site safety representative for specific projects when required
* Act as liaison between Design Group and client when evaluating safety protocols
**Requirements:**
* Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.
* Ideal applicant will have a minimum of 7 years of experience performing onsite inspections or a role where safety inspection was a responsibility
* 2 years of experience in a safety related leadership role
* Highly desired is prior experience in a project safety role involving food, beverage, consumer products, pharmaceutical or related industries. Construction experience is also a plus.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.
**Relocation:**
We are looking for candidates local to their region. For highly qualified applicants outside of the local area some relocation assistance may be available.
**Travel:**
Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to facility construction, equipment installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.
**Education:**
* This position requires a bachelors degree in engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Safety or related degree field.
**Certifications:**
* Completion of OSHA 30-hour training is required.
* BCSP Certification (CSP, ASP, CHST, GSP, OHST) or other certification such as CSD (Certified Safety Director) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or willing/able to achieve within one year of hire.
