POSITION SUMMARY

The Academic Program Support Specialist (APSS) serves on the Career and Technical Education (CTE) team, a part of CCA's Academic Success Division. The APSS provides excellent customer service with front desk and administrative support services to academic leadership, department chairs, faculty, instructors, staff, and students. The specialist possesses a general knowledge of higher education and administrative and project management knowledge and skills. This person shows the ability to perform tasks autonomously, with keen attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes. The specialist interacts effectively with constituents and stakeholders, from diverse backgrounds, inside and outside the college in a variety of mediums (face-to-face, online, and over the phone). This person also provides liaison services to college-wide personnel through excellent communication and project management skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide excellent customer service with front desk and administrative tasks

Perform administrative tasks requested by the CTE Dean and Department Chairs to support the effectiveness of academic programs and student success

Help the CTE Dean and Department Chairs with some of the course- and program-level assessments of student learning tasks, like the collection, management, and storing of data

Review learning management system course shells in accordance with department policies and the CTE Dean's and Department Chairs' expectations

Manage medium and long-term projects, like program research to support growth and development

Attend program-related events, both on and off-campus, representing the college in an engaging and professional manner

Plan and manage or support department events as needed

Prepare college catalog revisions and updates for each department and program and get approval from Department Chairs prior to submission

Maintain career and technical program documentation for program approval, program renewal, performance metrics and faculty credentialing

Create well-written and well-designed documents for distribution

Ensure departmental web pages and program information documents are up-to date

Design and distribute public information on behalf of the CTE Dean, Department Chairs, and programs, in collaboration with the College Communications staff

Direct student concerns on behalf of the CTE Dean and Department Chairs

Answer questions about the departments and programs

Participate in professional development relevant to the position responsibilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION : Associate Degree

One (1) year experience in a work setting related to an academic department

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proved problem-solving and decision-making skills

Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms, Teams, SharePoint

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree

Experience working in a healthcare-related setting

Experience working in a clinical setting

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Salary Range: Anticipated starting salary range: $50,215.10 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent , including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits. Full time employees immediately upon hire earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
