Essential Duties and Responsibilities
We currently have an opening for Civil Engineer Principal Project Manager. The qualified candidate will manage, direct, and oversee Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects and provide staff augmentation services.
Manage the Capital Improvement Program projects from design to construction completion.
Monitor project's budgets and schedules.
Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFP) for professional services and negotiate contracts for design and construction management.
Coordinate with utility companies, other agencies, and act as City's representative.
Prepare the necessary staff reports and budget document.
Provide timely reviews of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
Coordinate evaluation of bids submitted by contractors.
Prepare City Council staff report for award of construction contract.
Provide general oversight of contract administration during project construction.
Coordinate project closeout activities, including as-builts, staff report, Notice of Completion, and release of retention.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
BS - civil engineering.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in project management and municipal engineering services.
Must have a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in CA.
