We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician to join our team and support our utility infrastructure management efforts. The GIS Technician will play a key role in collecting, analyzing, and maintaining spatial data to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our GIS databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technology, data management, and utility operations.
Responsibilities:
compile, and update spatial data related to utility infrastructure, including electrical grids, water distribution systems, and gas pipelines.
data analysis and quality control to ensure the accuracy and completeness of GIS databases.
in the development and implementation of GIS workflows and protocols to streamline data management processes.
maps, reports, and other spatial analyses to support utility planning, engineering, and operations.
with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data with other enterprise systems, such as asset management and customer service platforms.
technical support and training to staff members on GIS software, tools, and procedures.
current with industry trends and best practices in GIS technology and utility management.
Qualifications:
years of experience working with GIS technology, preferably in a utility or infrastructure management setting.
degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or related field, is preferred.
to GIS software, such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
with utility operations and infrastructure terminology is a plus.
certification (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) is desirable but not required.
