We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Technical Accounting to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition processes. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in public accounting and a proven track record in revenue accounting within the retail or e-commerce industry.
What You Get To Do Every Day
Revenue Recognition Compliance:
Lead and manage the revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand new business initiatives and their impact on revenue recognition.
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue-related journal entries, supporting schedules, and financial statements.
Provide insights into revenue trends, analysis, and variances.
Audit Support:
Act as the key point of contact for internal and external auditors during quarterly and year-end audits.
Prepare audit schedules and assist in addressing audit inquiries related to revenue recognition.
Process Improvement:
Collaborate with financial systems data teams, product support, and engineering to enhance accuracy and completeness of transactional reporting for the order to cash process.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of revenue accounting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with order management, and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions.
Collaborate with other finance teams to drive seamless integration between revenue and other financial processes such as inventory, shipping services, indirect taxes, and other operating expenses.
What You Bring To The Role
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue, inventory, and general accounting, with a significant portion in public accounting.
In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
Advanced excel skills.
Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data to various stakeholders.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven leadership experience in managing a team.
Preferred Requirements:
CPA certification preferred.
Public accounting experience; Big Four experience is a plus.
Strong proficiency in ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
Previous experience with inventory operations and accounting in the retail or e-commerce industry is highly desirable.
Experience with revenue automation tools such as RevPro, Zuora, Leapfin, or other similar platforms streamlining the revenue accounting processes and enhancing efficiencies.
Proven experience working with high growth companies in a fast paced environment.
The expected salary range for this role is $134,558.00 - $161,874.00 . To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
