Job Summary
As part of the human resources department, the successful candidate is involved in several aspects related to hiring, training, and human resources support. Their duties include working with the various leaders in analyzing the requirements of an available job, attracting suitable candidates to the position, carefully screening and selecting all applicants, hiring, and seamlessly integrating new employees and roles into the organization. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to participate in other various HR tasks and projects.
They are a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, strong commitment to deadlines and team, is highly organized and process oriented with a strong sense of ownership in their work, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a superior skill set in sourcing candidates and familiarity with HR processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develops and executes national staffing plan to ensure both internal and external pipeline of candidates to meet the business requirements
Sources candidates through multiple channels, including social media, online databases, networking, email, job boards, referrals and cold-calling;
Serves as a liaison with local employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
Attends various career fair events
Experience with internship programs with familiarity with recruitment processes with secondary educational institutions
Develops and updates job postings and job descriptions as required
Effectively manages the overall hiring process from end to end; posting, sourcing, reviewing resumes, interviewing, selection, and closing process including offer letters and acceptance.
Ascertain candidates’ position qualifications by conducting pre-hire checks including employer verification checks, background checks, drug screens
Creates excel reports and monitors key HR metrics related to recruitment
Manages the onboarding process and conducts orientation
Manages the offboarding process for employees leaving
Manages client relationships with management and serve as a partner before, during, and after the recruiting process
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and management, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Assists the HR department with various human resource functions and workforce management tasks
Provides back up vacation coverage on basic HR needs
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in talent management and employment law
Maintains a good understanding of the services the business provides
Job Requirements Skills & Qualifications
Undergraduate or Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, personnel management, psychology, industrial relations, or a similar field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in full cycle recruiting
Proficient with Microsoft Office in particular Excel
Experience in recruiting at a national level
Experience in recruiting plant operations and corporate/admin preferred
Knowledge in recruiting for the District Energy business preferred
Experience with a wide variety of sourcing avenues
Understanding of employment laws and regulations across various states
Experience with different interview formats, like in-person interviews, group interviews, and phone screening calls
Experience in creating and managing various recruitment tracking spreadsheets in Excel
Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods including referrals
Familiarity with various HR processes and programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience working in a unionized considered an asset
Travel is required across various client locations and must visit various plant and office sites as required (15% year)
Travel to Corporate Head Office in Houston is required
