Life Pacific University (LPU) seeks candidates for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Psychology and Counseling in the School of Arts and Sciences . The department hosts the Online MA in Counseling Program and BA in Human Development and Psychology . For 100 years Life Pacific University has educated a diverse student body for service to God in the Church, the workplace, and the world. The University is looking for faculty members who share this vision and have a heart to serve our students.
The program is on online, and the faculty member will not be expected to be physically present to teach in San Dimas. Compensation depends upon degree and experience.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Department of Counseling and Psychology seeks applications for adjunct faculty to teach graduate online MA in Counseling courses in the following areas:
Psychopharmacology and Psychobiology
Counseling and Psychotherapeutic Techniques
Addictions Counseling
Group Counseling
Career Development
Christian Counseling within the Church
Research and Evaluation Methods
Diagnostic Testing and Treatment Plan
Introduction to Clinical Skills
Law and Ethics
Couples and Family Counseling
Cross-Cultural Counseling
Assessment Instruments and Techniques
Advanced Clinical Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Work with department chair as part of the MA teaching team
Design online course curriculum, time to task worksheet, and corresponding Learning Management System (LMS) for students in Moodle
Prepare lectures and class activities for weekly class sessions
Connect with students and provide prompt communication and feedback when needed
Commit to teaching the weekly online sessions and interacting with the students
Grade papers/assignments as needed
Attend one online faculty meeting per semester
Make improvements to the course as needed
Provide student success progress report to the Registrar's Office for at-risk students

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Terminal degree in counseling or social work (or a closely related discipline). ABDs are considered.
3-5 years of work experience in counseling, including a license as an independent mental health practitioner
Experience teaching at the college level is preferred
Excellent communication skills and writing ability
Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and the general constituency of Life Pacific University.
Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with Life Pacific University commitment to The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Faculty must align to our Pentecostal/Charismatic and Wesleyan Arminian stance (must be able to sign Life Pacific's Statement of Faith and align with its position on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity).
