Our Client
Our client is a privately-owned jewelry company with a manufacturing facility in Turkey. They specialize in creating wedding bands. With an existing presence in northern New Jersey since 2001, they are preparing for a relocation to Jersey City, NJ in the forthcoming 12 months to further amplify their operations in the US market.
Objective
To lead and manage the US operations with a prime focus on expanding the brand's presence and ensuring seamless communication with the headquarters in Turkey. The US General Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining the essence of the brand while catering to the US clientele.
Ideal Profile
We are on the hunt for a candidate that embodies a fusion of leadership, passion for jewelry, and an understanding of the nuances of operating within a small business environment. The candidate's past experiences should reflect an intrinsic connection with the jewelry industry and the aptitude to report and communicate efficiently with overseas management.
Responsibilities
Lead a cohesive team of 4 office professionals and 4 field sales representatives.
Develop and implement sales strategies in alignment with the brand's vision and US market potential.
Attend trade shows and visit key accounts to foster relationships and expand market reach.
Ensure effective data sourcing and information management to facilitate well-informed decision-making.
Oversee the accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Maintain regular communication with the headquarters in Turkey, providing detailed reports and updates.
Foster a productive work environment that upholds the company's values and encourages team growth.
Requirements:
A minimum of 8 years of work experience in the jewelry industry.
Proficient understanding and hands-on experience in data sourcing, information management, accounting, and sales.
Ability to travel for trade shows and key account visits.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven experience in leading and managing teams within a small company environment.
Comfort and efficiency in reporting to and communicating with overseas management.
Familiarity with the dynamics and requirements of a relocation process would be advantageous.
