Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will be a key contributor to establishing a solid foundation for audit-ready close and internal control processes, as well as addressing technical accounting needs as the Company scales. A key focus of this role will be driving financial close efficiencies and developing/implementing process improvements for scaled operations. You will play an important leadership role in the Accounting organization by overseeing the existing external accounting staff and building strong working relationships across the organization (C suite, Finance, and Business Unit leaders) with various levels of management. This role offers a path to become a Controller.

Responsibilities

Lead the financial close process to ensure timely and accurate preparation and recording of financial transactions, account reconciliation, financial flux analysis, and schedules for management reporting

Oversee the order to cash cycle, with a focus on revenue recognition and adoption of ASC 606

Manage company spend, including approving payroll, calculating variable compensation, processing accounts payable, and issuing credit cards

Work closely with the cross-functioning teams to align on accounting policies and operations of new, nonstandard, and/or material accounting matters

Establish, implement, maintain, and monitor strong accounting control, procedures, and policies

Oversee GL activity and account reconciliations; ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial results

Prepare the Company and lead it through its first external review/audit by interfacing with auditors and ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules

Identify and streamline workflows to maximize operational efficiencies

Build out a best-in-class accounting team as we grow

What Success Would Look Like in Your First Few Months

In the first 30 days, you will develop a deep understanding of the Parade’s business model, gain knowledge about interrelationship between revenue drivers and spend, and get familiarized with existing systems and processes. You will also meet with stakeholders across the organization to better understand how the Accounting & Finance teams work with other functions. Lastly, you will review and provide feedback on the current accounting processes.

In the first 60 days, you will start identifying areas for improvement in the Accounting team's operations and processes and make recommendations on how to improve these processes. You will develop further knowledge about our month-end close and start taking ownership of the close process.

In the first 90 days, you will start taking ownership of the entire accounting operations cycle while preparing the Company for its first review/audit. You will take a lead on implementing new processes to address the needs of the organization around monthly management reporting, BvA, and PvA.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred

5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or a high-tech organization

2+ years of experience managing people

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting

Hands-on experience in managing general accounting operations and performing accounting analysis

Preferred Qualifications

Self-starter with strong ethical standards who takes the initiative on projects with a strong ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, understand and solve creative challenges, and drive efficiency

Team player with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Enterprise SaaS experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of ERP systems, QuickBooks and Netsuite are highly preferred.

Compensation

The expected on-target compensation for this role is between $150,000-$190,000 for work performed in the United States. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include experience level, transferable skills, education, location, business needs, training, and market demands. This range may be modified in the future.
