Objectives of this Role: Provide full lifecycle support to Software Development and DevOps Tools, to include but not limited to: Nexus, TeamCity, GitLab, TeamTrack, Jira, YouTrack, and Docker. Support includes licensing, permission management, installation, patches, and updates.
Proactively engage with development teams, manage the status and security posture of the tools, track critical security patches, debug and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the development staff to improve the DevOps and Continuous Integration tools and environments. Participate in design and implementation of DevOps solutions to support various tasks.
Utilize scripting to automate tasks such as testing, build processes, installing software, configuring systems, managing files and directories and others as needed.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Day-to-day tool maintenance: updates, ACLs, scheduled maintenance, backup and restore, server hardware monitoring and maintenance, scripting, and automation of repetitive tasks.
Tool debugging and fault isolation: handling and tracking problem reports, inspecting logs, running tests and experiments, interfacing with tool vendors.
Collaboration activities: Interfacing with division IT personnel , submitting and monitoring tickets, collaborating to meet requirements, and coordinating group activities.
Guiding improvements: improving internal docs, identifying patterns in support requests, proposing solutions, assisting with tool selection and evaluation, helping to craft security and tool management policies. Proactively evaluating tools and technologies to meet future needs
Activities will include work primarily at SwRI facilities.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelors in Information Technology or Computer Science with 2 years related experience, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 6 years related experience, or a minimum of 2 years continuing education in equivalent field with 4 years related experience.
Strong critical thinker, very good verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, and works well within a team, as well as be proactive and self-directed.
Familiarity with continuous integration tools and source code revision control tools is highly desired.
Experience installing, maintaining, administering, and supporting enterprise applications.
Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Experience with scripting, OS administration, Git workflows, and the administration and maintenance of Software Development tools is required.
Current DoD security clearance is highly desired.
A valid/clear driver's license is required
