Overview

We are looking for a detailed and motivated Accountant to support accounting operations and processes across Carbon Direct Inc. A successful candidate combines solid analytical skills with knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting experience. You are detail-oriented, skilled at learning and improving processes across our fast-growing company, and able to collaborate effectively with team members across departments. You will report to our Senior Accounting Manager. Although a background in climate work is a plus but not a prerequisite, a passion for solving climate problems is required.

Responsibilities

Own various accounting activities, including key areas such as A/P, payroll, intercompany, and other spend management components

Assist in completion of financial audits and tax returns

Collaborate closely within the finance team on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, collections, and cash management

Work independently on monthly and quarterly financial close processes

Refine accounting infrastructure and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, Rippling, Carta, HubSpot) for a growing organization

Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and infrastructure

Qualifications

Experience in an accounting, auditing, or finance role.

Experience working for a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification preferred, as is knowledge of GAAP and experience in key areas such as accrued expenses, lease accounting, and software capitalization.

Prior experience supporting third-party audits is preferred.

Proven analytical abilities, well-developed communication and organizational skills, and keen attention to detail are vital.

Salary

$95,000-$115,000
