ENTRY LEVEL CLASS FOR ENGINEERING GRADUATES AND STUDENTS!

This is the entry level class in the professional Civil Engineer series. Positions in this series performs routine professional engineering work in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of civil engineering projects; assists in preparing designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other duties as required. Some positions may require overtime work, including weekends, holidays and after hours.

Current Vacancy Information: There are two vacancies with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply - Capital Projects Division, one in the Design Branch and one in the Support Branch.

There are two vacancies with the Department of Transportation Services, Traffic Engineering Division.

There is one vacancy with the Department of Environmental Services, Environmental Quality Division.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript. Verification Requirement : You must submit evidence of your education in order to be given credit. Please attach an electronic copy of your diploma and/or official transcript which shows the embossed seal or applicable FCE to your application.  Or mail a photocopy of your documents to the following address: Department of Human Resources, 650 South King Street, 10th Floor, Honolulu, HI 96813 . Copies will not be returned. Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted. All information on your documentation must be legible and complete in order to be given credit.

Students who will graduate in the current semester with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering may apply.   However, you must submit documentation indicating current enrollment and completion of sufficient coursework in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program at a regionally-accredited four-year U.S. university/college (e.g., official/unofficial transcript).  Please attach a copy of your documentation verifying this to your application for further consideration.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT :  Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license (automobile/Type 3), as required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION :

In addition to meeting the above minimum qualifications, your application will be further evaluated. Your score will be based on the quality and quantity of your education, experience and/or other related job requirements and competencies applicable to the position.
