TITLE: Project Manager JOB OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects at Valley Medical Center, to include overall planning, resource coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and execution. Ensures projects are delivered within the planned schedule, budget, and scope. Job requires the ability to be on Valley Medical Center campus as needed to perform the duties of managing projects. DEPARTMENT: Enterprise Project Management Office WORK HOURS: As required to fulfill responsibilities. REPORTS TO: Manager, Enterprise Project Management Office PREREQUISITES: Level 1: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare or other closely related field or comparable years' experience, required. Minimum 1 year working as a Project Manager. Understanding of Project Management methodologies, Project Management education preferred. Basic understanding of Information Technology. Level 2: (In Addition to Level 1) Minimum 4 years formal Project Management experience required; healthcare setting preferred. Formal education in Project Management methodologies required, PMI preferred. Experience in conducting a Work Breakdown Session preferred. Experienced in managing Information Technology projects, preferred. Level Senior: (In Addition to Level 1 & 2) Minimum 7 years formal Project Management experience managing mid to large scale projects required; healthcare setting preferred. Experienced in conducting a Work Breakdown Session required. PMP or similar Project Management certification strongly preferred. Prosci Change Management Certified preferred or similar Change Management education. Experienced in managing Information Technology projects required. Principal Level: (In Addition to Level 1, 2 & Sr.) 10+ years progressive Project/Program Management experienced required. 5+ years Healthcare Information Technology experience required. PMP certified and/or a combination of project management education with progressive management of large complex project experience required. Prosci Change Management Certification with proven record of applied experience required. Master's degree in Business, Healthcare, or other closely related field, preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient with Microsoft tools, minimally Project, Visio, Teams, Power Point, Word and Excel. Experienced in managing projects from chartering through closing. Able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities. Ability to collaborate and work in a multidisciplinary team environment. Tolerates ambiguity in instructions and work situations. Will direct the work of others. UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time; requires manual and finger dexterity, and vision corrected to normal range; requires ability to travel several miles to various sites on any given day; visual acuity with assistive devices as necessary to read typed and hand-written information in paper and electronic formats; must be able to tolerate fine motor movements associated with computer use; lift/carry 10 pounds occasionally. Work with resource managers to obtain resource assignments. Work with the project team and sponsors to develop detailed project work plans, timelines, and budgets. Appropriately and effectively use the departmental standard methodology and templates. Plan, direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress on schedule and within budget. Track and manage issues; escalate issues to the appropriate level in a timely manner. Track and manage project budgets; may have signing authority. Prepare status reports and keep project sponsors, team, stakeholders, and others informed of project status and related issues. Manage requests for changes to scope, schedule, and budget according to defined change control procedures. Serve as project liaison representing the project to other departments, senior management, affiliated individuals or institutions, and outside organizations. Effectively close projects ensuring that all project work and documentation is complete and that all project work has been successfully transitioned to operations. Contribute to project portfolio planning by developing project justifications and estimates and/or proposals.
