GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
Primary functions include assisting customers with export booking related inquiries including creation, updates, and troubleshooting to resolve issues. Answer customer inquiries as to booking status and update information as needed. Work with terminals, vendors, truckers, and service providers to ensure cargo is exported as intended. Specializes in Reefer, Awkward/OOG, SOC, Hides, and Export Customs handling, along with any special commodities that require an approval process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Answer phones and manage email correspondence
Create and make booking updates
Troubleshooting numerous operational issues
Build rapport with repeat clients
Check sailing schedules and equipment availability
Vessel clean-up of specialty cargo along with late gate management and coordination
Coordination with equipment teams for repositioning if necessary
Email booking confirmations/notices
Cargo tracing: on dock, inland moves, door moves
Overseas communication and tracking of cargo
Specialized handling, follow up, and knowledge of Reefer, AK/OOG, SOC, Hide, and Customs cases
Coordinating transloads and trucking for damaged or bad ordered equipment
Coordination direct with terminals regarding any temperature or equipment malfunctions
On hire of SOC equipment directly with terminal
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Prior customer service experience, time management skills, ability to prioritize work, work efficiently under pressure, ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, detail oriented, critical thinking skills, proper phone etiquette and strong communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred but not required.
Prior industry experience preferred but not required.
