This corporation is seeking a Director of Accounting to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role encompasses a broad range of financial responsibilities, from overseeing accounting operations to strategic financial planning and analysis, ensuring alignment with our corporate objectives.

Focus:
Spearhead the accounting department, guiding the team towards achieving operational excellence and meeting financial objectives.
Act as the principal liaison with external audit firms, coordinating audit activities and tax preparation for numerous entities.
Direct the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy in financial statements and compliance with accounting standards.
Manage treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and transaction approvals.
Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insightful financial analysis, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Guarantee the integrity of financial reporting and adherence to GAAP, along with compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Facilitate effective communication with investors and lenders, ensuring transparency and timely reporting.
Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, offering strategic insights into financial planning and performance optimization.
Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Champion the enhancement of internal controls and processes, leveraging technology to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Skill Set:
CPA certification is highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a strong preference for backgrounds in property management or real estate sectors.
Demonstrated expertise in financial management of multifamily housing projects, with familiarity in Low Income Housing Tax Credits being advantageous.
Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software is beneficial but not required.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills are essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
Capacity to prioritize understanding the intricacies of the business before proposing changes.
Adept at managing complex accounting activities for multiple entities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Ability to build strong relationships with investors and community partners, with a solid grasp of partnership agreements and financial structures.
