Job Summary:
The Construction Manager is a construction professional who is part of a multi-disciplinary team which supports Church's domestic and occasionally international franchisees in new and existing restaurant construction and directs the construction of new company restaurants, remodels and renovations.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as advisor to franchisees and their consultants during construction of new restaurants, conversion of alternate use spaces and remodels. Scope of CM's role for franchisees projects starts at site selection and includes: assessing feasibility of proposed site from a construction perspective; advising on hiring Church's qualified architects, engineers and general contractors; conducting planning and preconstruction meetings; construction site visits; and communicating project status to all stakeholders.
Protect brand image and standards through site visits and photograph reviews. Communicate standards through construction manuals, prototype design sets and materials specifications.
Oversee construction, alterations and remodels of company assets. Oversight will include scope and budget preparation and supervising consultants work. Scope of CM's role for corporate projects starts at site selection and includes: assessing feasibility of proposed site from a construction perspective; permitting, qualifying and hiring architects, engineers and general contractors; construction site visits; budget and schedule monitoring; FF&E procurement; and communicating project status to all stake holders.
Other tasks may include ad hoc corporate projects, office remodels, scopes of work, lease exhibits, presentations at zoning or other hearings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements (Education, Qualifications, Experience):
Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, architecture; graduate degree with a concentration in business is a plus. Years of relevant work experience may substitute for degree.
Minimum of 10 years in restaurant construction project management, preferably QSR/fast food. Experience should include new construction, conversions of other uses and remodels.
Demonstrates an understanding of the construction process in the context of the entire business proposition - real estate selection; operational efficiency; construction cost reduction or containment; code compliance; facilities management
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Project and Outlook
