RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Manage manufacturing employees to include performance reviews and disciplinary actions
Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost
Makes recommendations for improvements to create efficiency, reduce costs, eliminate issues, and achieve resolution
Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedule
Work with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses
Control load factors and workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipment
Maintains a safety culture and cultivates safe behavior through development and monitoring of safety standards.
Optimizes materials, schedules, and the WIP flow through the production and assembly lines to ensure a high on-time delivery rate to our customers.
Oversees all individual and machine performance reports to guarantee effective operations and adherence to standards.
Works in the best interest of the business by making decisions that reflect the company’s core values.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with a ll plant functional areas
Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, and or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and or skills.
Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors and or other problems or defects
Manage workforce planning, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies (vacations, floating days, call ins, etc.
Provide recommendations on disciplinary action and recommend potential improvements, as necessary
Experience and Competencies:
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with 3 to 4 years of related experience
Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
Excellent communication and listening skills
Proven track record of effective problem-solving
Ability to embrace continuous improvement
Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions
